Welcome to the Meg Jewelry blog on this Monday afternoon. Today is a very important day as we recapture the royal wedding and the jewelry that accompanied the event. Royal weddings are often sparse in nature, so when such an event occurs, we often associate the event with show-stopping gowns, suits and accessories. The recent matrimony between Prince William and Kate Middleton was of no exception to these perceptions that we have, but the elegance reached these standards by promoting intricate details throughout.
The now royal Kate Middleton wore a Cartier "Halo" tiara from the mid-1930's with diamonds woven into a vintage pattern. The tiara had a vivid background of loyalty, which began as a gift to Queen Elizabeth, (then Princess Elizabeth) on her 18th Birthday. Although the tiara was a temporary, solo gift from the Queen, Kate's parents provided custom made earrings by the talented Robinson Pelham. The earrings had acorn motifs that dangled freely from a simple post as promoted by the photo below.
The royal wedding that we encountered was elegant, glamorous and absolutely perfect with intricate details being a large theme.
