{Wednesday Wants} One for One. Toms Shoes

Give a little more on your wedding day to others and stay super comfy at the same time.
Toms is a movement out of California that focuses on children.  For every pair of shoes you buy, Toms gives a pair to a child in need. Pretty rad, right? There have been shoe drops all over the world, and with your help Toms can keep giving!

And.. it's catching on in the wedding world. Here at MEG Jewelry we love the Silver and Gold Glitter Toms which would pair nicely under your gown with of course... your MEG Jewelry. (no lies ladies, you can wear these all day for supreme comfort, or break them out at the reception!)

Your man can loosen up and stay comfy with Toms too. Here is a real life wedding from the Toms blog that was just too awesome to pass up!

When you buy a pair of shoes you receive a Toms flag. We would love to see if any of our brides ever wear a pair with their MEG Jewelry. Document and send us your special day via Toms style!

{Wednesday Wants} Trend Watch for 2011: PEARLS

After spending the week in New York for the 2011 Bridal Market, all we can think about now is pearls. Known as the "Queen of Gems", pearls have many different historical importances. From Egyptians to 21st century cultures, pearls will never loose their allure. They can give your warmth and romance, or dazzle alongside crystal.

Today in our culture, pearls are seen as a classic accessory and thus perfect for your wedding day. Easy to wear with many different styles of bridal gowns, we choose two designers Claire Pettibone and Kelly Chase Couture to feature alongside some of our favorite MEG Jewelry Accessories.

Try for a elegant and classic look with this 2011 Kelly Chase Couture Gown paired with Meg Jewelry's Tiye Earring, Amina Necklace and Haircomb, and the James Bracelet.

Or feel the romance with this sweet and soft Claire Pettibone Gown from their 2011 collection. This look can be paired with the Isla Headband and Earring, Sarabi or Zazu Earring, or the Nefertiti Bracelet and is one to swoon over.

{Wednesday Wants} To Be: The Vintage Bride

What a great time Meg Jewelry is having at the National Bridal Market in Chicago! Over the past couple of days, we have seen some great ideas for the vintage bride and we wanted to share our favorites with you. The vintage trend for a wedding is a great way to bring some individuality to your day, and also a classic feel. Here is our take on a great assemble for the vintage bride.

#1. Of course, your Meg Jewelry! We picked the Semi necklace, earrings, bracelet and hair pins. These pieces are very delicate and will compliment the lace on our dress pick!

#2. Now, the dress. Stephanie James Couture has a great collection of vintage inspired dresses.  We choose the Josephine Dress which is an awesome representation of classic 1950's dress. An a-lined silhouette, tea length and soft lace compliment the body femininely without too much skin. Love.

#3. Shoes. Since we choose a tea length dress, shoes are of upmost importance! Hey Lady shoes have a fun collection of vintage wedding heels. We picked the "Off the Market" heel because it has a cute Lace d'orsay peep toe that compliments the Josephine dress. The subtle curves of the shoes hug the body and it is lined in 100% lambskin. The toe box is dancer sized to make sure your toes are comfy! What could be better? (check out the Coco Puff shoes too, I want those for fun!)

{Wear This!} Sassy Bridesmaid Dresses

Everybody knows the feeling of owning a bright polyester bridesmaid dress that hides in the back of their closet. There are options to combat this dilemma and at the same time give your wedding a personal vibe. Here is the secret...

If you are open to allowing your bridesmaids to pick a dress on their own, let them! It will give them the opportunity to wear it again and feel super comfortable on the wedding day. Here are some guidelines that can be helpful.

1. Color- Shades of grey? Pattern or solid... Bright spring colors... etc.
2. Cocktail dress or Sun Dress?
3. Vintage?
4. Tea or floor length?
5. Same shoe color, or pick something unique!?

WE KNOW. Some bridesmaids need guidance, or don't feel comfortable picking a dress that you (the bride) may not like. If that is the case, then go shopping with them. What a fun way to spend time with your ladies. Or ask the girls to pick a couple options if they aren't sure, and then you can all narrow it down. Pick a night when you can get together with all your bridesmaids and bring the dress options and maybe.. drink some wine!

Here are some real wedding inspiration shots to gather some ideas.
