Chicago Bridal Market This Weekend!

Why be a princess when you can be queen!

MEG Jewelry will be in Chicago this weekend for the National Bridal Market and will be showing our bridal accessories. Our focus will be on the regal auras of Queens and will showcase gold and purple color stories.
Unfortunately, this market is not open to the public- but if your business is attending, please come stop by our booth (7-3113)! This a great opportunity to spread the word about MEG Jewelry and meet awesome people and companies in the bridal industry.

And.. it is held in the Merchandise Mart of Chicago. The building is so big, it has it's own zip code. Wow!

Wednesday Wants. The {Ultimate} Polly Accessory!

Versatility is the theme for today. It's like one of those days where you open up your closet and try to conjure up new outfits by accessorizing differently. Who says a scarf can't be a belt? Or a necklace can't be a bracelet? What about hair jewelry as a necklace? BING! That's it!

MEG Jewelry has a great piece that screams versatility. Wear it as hair jewelry, necklace, or bracelet, but the name remains POLLY. This piece is perfect for your special day- or for other awesome occassions

What else in your life could you use differently? Here are some ideas!
~ Rain Umbrella AS a sun shade. Classy. Cool (I mean really-practical)
AND
~ Lace ribbon AS wrap bracelet. (my favorite! but hard to tie-use teeth)

Wednesday Wants. MEG Spring 2011 Earrings

Women's fashion is a constant circle, always pulling from the past. Styles of clothing influence many other aspects of dress including the accessories. That's where we come in...but... a little history first!

Earrings became must more popular in the 16th century when women's dress allowed it. Meaning, the high collars on women's dress disappeared and they wore their hair up more. This change allowed earrings to be a focal point on a woman. The girandole earring appeared mid 1600's and was laden with gems and stones. It was so heavy, it wore the ear lobes down!

The girandole earring is an inspiration for earrings we see today. The September issue of InStyle had a great article of lacey earrings. Chandelier drops and openwork give an intricate spin with an elegant touch. As new designs for our MEG Jewelry Spring 2011 line materialize, we are right on point.

Bringing this full circle, we introduce two new earrings for MEG Jewelry Spring 2011 line. These earrings feature an openwork base that is accented with Swarovski crystals and fresh water pearls. A elegant addition to any bride's ensemble!

Wednesday Wants. Juno Hair Jewelry

As the New York Fashion week comes to a close, we reflect on new trends emerging. One such trend that we noticed corresponds with texture. Smocking, pleating, macramé and crochet give simple designs an edge. These simple techniques that call heavily on tradition show the range and versatility that fashion can have.

Our featured MEG Jewelry accessory today is the Juno Hair Jewelry. A pleated lace flower follows the trend of texture as it features a small veil that gently falls on the face.

Many dresses seen this week on the runway can be inspiration for wedding gowns or be the perfect dress for a non-traditional wedding. They highlight the trend of texture and would be a great match for the Juno Hair Jewelry.

Wednesday Wants. Queen Sheba.

This week we draw on an ancient and spectacular source of inspiration for our feature. Queen Sheba. After visiting the home of Menelik in Ethiopa, new design ideas were pulled from the regal adornments of past Kings and Queens of Africa. The attire, architecture and crowns were stimulation for the MEG Jewelry Accessories, Sheba.

Start off by adorning yourself with the Sheba Hair Comb, this Swarovski Crystal hair combs combines the elements of three floret shapes. Then the teardrop Sheba Earrings draw attention to the wearer.

We can’t forget the Sheba Necklace that creates great movement around the neck as it plunges back and forth. Lastly pulling everything together, the Sheba Cuff truly emulates the regal attributes of African Queens.

Wait! We’re not done yet. A dress idea certainly must be the icing on the cake. Priscilla of Boston has a perfect Silk Crepe Georgette strapless slim gown with a scoop neckline and an embellished drop waist and over skirt. This dress has qualities that will compliment the Sheba Jewelry Accessories wonderfully. (Don’t forget to ditch the scarf!)

Happy Labor Day Weekend

Best wishes to all of the brides and grooms on their way to the 'alter' this weekend!

For the brides-to-be: this is an amazing necklace from my upcoming Spring/summer 2011 MEG Jewelry line. Honestly, this line is all about big earrings, cuffs/big bracelets/ and hair jewelry. However I did sneak a few outstanding delicious necklaces in the line, since I am a necklace girl. I ALWAYS feel that the most attractive part of a woman's body is her clavicle, and I cannot resist a necklace to complement the lady.

Love this girl!

I had a wonderful time 'jeweling up' this bride-to-be, at Kleinfeld's bridal (www.kleinfeldbridal.com). She was absolutely stunning in her dress and MEG Jewelry accessories from the 2011 line. I am giving you a sneak peak at the necklace she choose, but you will have to wait for the rest of the look, until after her wedding AND when the new line is debuted! I am such a tease!

Our new segment revealed today. Wednesday Wants will feature our favorite MEG Jewelry piece of the week and give you great sneak peeks into our future lines.

You’ve been waiting for it. The Sneak Peek into our Spring 2011 MEG Jewelry Line! Right here, right now. But first, why is this so important? It’s all about September 9th really, the first day to New York Fashion Week. This huge event lasts about a week and fashion designers show their Spring 2011 lines by huge runway productions. This iconic week has so much influence on other facets of fashion and coincidentally to a trend that inspired our MEG Jewelry Spring 2011 line.

Peacock Feathers

Full of electric colors of blue, green and yellow we wanted to create a Bridesmaid’s earring and necklace that would be a great addition to vibrant dress. The colors in the Swarovski crystal are reminiscent of the peacock feather. This spectrum of color is great for framing the face and pairs with many different color options.

Pair these new pieces with bridesmaid dresses of blue, green, yellow, purple, red and fuchsia. Dessy Group has a flirty ruffle bridesmaid dress in the color Dahlia and Jenny Yoo’s Eastern Shantung dress has versatility and looks great in the emerald green color. It’s all about luxe ladies. Feel royal and exotic!
