{Wednesday Wants} The STATEMENT Necklace

Every woman needs a little glamour in her life and the statement necklace is just the thing you need! Back on the rise, statement necklaces are a popular item trending in the bridal industry right now. Kleinfeld Bridal wrote a feature on their blog about this trend and showcased the MEG Jewelry Polly Necklace. (Great stuff, check it out!)

This led us to think about what is glamorous, or particularly who is inspiring! We thought of the classic actresses of the early 20th century and how extravagant their style was. Emulation is forever repeating itself and that is apparent through trends in the 21st century. We chose a few our favorite actresses of yesterday and today to show how to "make it work!"

We picked some of our newest styles from our Spring/Summer 2011 that we thought you would enjoy. If your a new bride for the summer 2011 season, take a look at what bridal boutiques are carrying MEG Jewelry and find your perfect statement!

A Note!
A big thank you to Meg for adding me into the MEG Jewelry family! I am totally enjoying the collaboration of our Wednesday Wants and Wear This features. It's great to blog about your awesome jewelry and wedding tidbits. Stayed tune for this Friday and see what's next.

The Knot after PARTY!!!!!

What a wonderful night!  After the Martha Stewart party, Stephanie (my date) and I went to The Knot party!   Great times!  Here I am with Matthew Christopher and beau, Adam of Lori London Headpieces, Stephanie of Stephanie James Couture, and (I know you all know my friend) Randy from Kleinfeld Bridal!

Martha Stewart Party

As expected, Martha Stewart knows how to throw a party!  This year, it was at a different venue..Martha Stewarts Headquarts, and better than ever!  Of course I enjoyed all of the fun Martha had for us...pedicures,  manicures, tables and tables of food, drinks and fun: but really I stood by my favorite thing to do...DANCE!  The DJ rocked and we had fun dancing ALL night long!  http://www.stephaniejamescouture.com/  http://www.earthspeaksartworks.com/

Lots of fun in NYC!

Hang'n out with Stephanie, Kelly and Chase, and Matthew Christopher!

Some of my favorite designers from New York market!

These beautiful people create absolutely beautiful dresses.  Here you see Jorge Manuel. http://www.jorgemanuelweddings.com/.  Angel Rivera (with Kleinfeld's Jacques Vignaeult) http://www.angelriveracoutute.com/. Stephanie James Couture.  http://www.stephaniejamescouture.com/. Kelly and Chase from Kelly Chase Couture.  http://www.kellychase.com/

Bridal week in New York city

I am all about letting yourself shine!  So everytime I hear someone say "I want to be a princess on my wedding day"  I think "...well why be a princess when you can be a QUEEN!!!!!"  So that was my feeling for this year's Bridal Market.  Regal!  When one walked into my booth, I wanted them to feel like they were in a queens boudoir.  The intricate designs of each statement piece of jewelry looked right out of a queen's jewelry box.

MEG Jewelry in Kleinfeld's front window!

I am very proud to announce that Kleinfeld's Bridal choose MEG Jewelry for their Fall window! Once again Jacques Vigneault showed his creative genius with another beautiful window display.  I could not feel more proud that he choose MEG Jewelry's statement earrings as part of his display.  He chose the Sheba earrings and the Panthea earrings.  Both are part of the 2010/2011 Fall/winter collection.  I feel very blessed!  Thanks Kleinfeld's! http://www.kleinfeldbridal.com/

Inspiration for 2011 Spring/Summer line

As I began designing for the 2011 Spring/Summer line, I kept finding myself leaning towards big earrings and cuffs.  I wanted Statement Pieces.  I didn't want earrings, necklaces, bracelets, hair jewelry to all be worn together.  My feeling was more about wearing one..okay two..statement pieces.  For me those statement pieces were earrings and a big cuff.  Then a beautiful add on with a flower or a vintage- brooch-like-feel in the BACK of the hair.  Thus my pieces this season turned more into intricate detailed statement pieces.  I love the bold, unique look of each piece.  Please enjoy picking your favorite pieces.  Be sure to call/stop in to your nearest boutique to find when the new 2011 pieces available.  And be sure to catch a MEG Jewelry trunkshow at your nearest bridal boutique.  The 2011 line is now available at http://www.megweddingjewelry.com/!  Cheers!http://www.megweddingjewelry.com/

Chicago trade show

I love the Chicago Trade show!  During Bridal week (really it is Bridal Month) I get to see all of my favorite designers, sales reps, and boutique owners and managers.  Due to a broken foot, my husband was not able to attend.  And what this means is no pictures.  I live to 'in the moment' to remember to take pictures.  So unfortunately I only took two pictures.  So sorry everyone!!!  I am sure everyone recognizes these two beautiful ladies: Stephanie from Stephanie James Couture http://www.stephaniejamescouture.com/ and Beth from Left Bank in Chicago.  http://www.leftbankjewelry.com/.

September's bride trunkshow

My favorite Septemeber tradition is to spend September's Bride' anniversary with them, in Holland MI.  This year it was their third anniversary, and we had a lovely celebration.  What is http://www.septembersbride.com/extra special about this trunkshow is that they preview my 2011 line first (the trunkshow is always the week before the Bridal market tradeshow)! And ohhh what a great response we had to the new line!  Here are two lovely brides feeling very happy in their dresses and MEG Jewelry.  The dark haired bride to be, went for a romantic feel in the nala earrings and Nala bracelet.  The blonde bride wanted to be more blingy in the Ella hair jewelry, Rani earrings, and Sheba cuff.  http://www.septembersbride.com/

{Wednesday Wants} Ra Ra Ra RUFFLE!

Ruffles. Don't be scared of them, honestly! Achieve some texture that will radiate a soft feminine look. Jim Hjelm wedding dresses has great options for Fall 2011 that can represent many different styles of brides. They do an awesome job of giving brides different options, because-as we us gals know- we all have our own sense of style for our wedding day!

Here are four completely different styled ruffled inspired gowns and our favorite MEG Jewelry pieces to accompany them.

"Classic Ruffles" + MEG 2011 Headpiece

"Ruched and Ruffled" + MEG Dawn Bracelet

"The Mini Ruffle" + MEG Bethany Bracelet
